Founded in the late 1960s by Oliviero Toscani and wisely managed today by his son Rocco, the company masterfully overlooks the rolling hills of Casale Marittimo, on the Tuscan coast, with a magnificent vineyard in the shape of an amphitheater, 350 meters above sea level. Organic, it has been experimenting for 5 years in the 12 hectares of vineyards with integrated pest management by inserting useful insects.

History

Overlooking the gentle hills of Casale Marittimo, a few kilometers north of Bolgheri, the Azienda Agricola Toscani was founded in the late 1960s by the internationally renowned photographer Oliviero Toscani.
Enchanted by this small village on the Tuscan coast on top of the hills, he buys a small ruin which he slowly transforms into his home. Year after year, he invests his earnings in land, creating over time a farm of extraordinary beauty.
After having planted more than 4,000 olive trees, introduced Appaloosa horses and a Cinta Senese breeding, the final note arrives towards the end of the 90s: the vineyard. Inspired by his friend Angelo Gaja, he created one of the most evocative vineyards of the Tuscan coast, creating a magnificent vineyard in the shape of an amphitheater, 350 meters above sea level.
Today the company is managed with great passion by his son Rocco, who in the last 5 years has transformed the cultivation in the vineyard from traditional to organic, experimenting in the 12 hectares of vineyards with integrated pest management by inserting useful insects. After years of hard work, sacrifices and changes, the Azienda Agricola Toscani project takes a definite shape and takes on a clear identity, focusing on the best that this land can produce.
